Saint-Vivien’s drum

Tabour de Saint Vivien

No sound - just a logo, here is the town of Saint-Vivien’s ‘drum’. The commune of Saint-Vivien has undergone a considerable expansion of its cultural life these last few years. Following the plant fair, the night ramble, the P’tit Montmartre, and the opening of the Beau Bourg Art Gallery for local artists, here is the paper drum to announce the news. This is how we get to know about local demonstrations, where you can find publicity for a communal kitchen garden, or even read about what the local pharmacy is offering in terms of vaccination, and many other things as well.

“Le tambour” (drum) was launched by the Saint-Vivien-Développement association, which was born out of the collective desire of the Saint-Vivien tradespeople and supported by the commune as much as possible. It is mainly the actors in cultural life who take part - but also tradespeople who see in the association the possibility of reinvigorating the village.

You may recall some years ago that the Port of Saint-Vivien did something similar: organising car-boot sales, music festivals, and even concerts of classical music. I remember just such a concert in the barn of Marie-Noële and Pierre Aubert, the sounds of the harpsichord and the quartet in the midst of the melons, the smell of cereals, and also the well-organised aperitive reserved for the ladies (L'apéro des filles) first at the Le Chasseur bar then at La Cabane in the port...
